Accra, Ghana – Education advocate and wife of renowned Ghanaian pastor Sam Korankye Ankrah, Rita Korankye Ankrah, has urged parents to become more intentional about understanding and guiding their children beyond the classroom environment.

Speaking to parents, Rita Korankye Ankrah emphasized that families have a greater responsibility in shaping a child’s character, values, and development, stressing that parents should know their children better than their teachers do.

She explained that while teachers play a crucial role in academic growth, parents remain the first and most influential figures in a child’s life. She encouraged parents to pay close attention to their children’s behavior, interests, challenges, and emotional needs.

According to her, effective parenting goes beyond providing basic needs and paying school fees; it requires consistent communication, involvement, and a strong relationship between parents and children.

Her message has sparked conversations among parents and educators, with many agreeing that collaboration between homes and schools is essential for raising responsible and successful children.

She also encouraged parents to create supportive environments where children feel comfortable sharing their concerns, allowing issues to be identified and addressed early.

The call comes at a time when many education stakeholders continue to emphasize the importance of parental involvement in improving students’ academic performance, discipline, and overall well-being.
