When seasoned actress Akofa Ajiene talked about her experience with sexual harassment in the creative industry during an interview, it caused a stir on the internet.

Akofa claimed that she lost a role because she refused to give her director bodily pleasure. There are tales of certain women in business who had to give in to the sexual advances of powerful men to be hired for specific positions and responsibilities.

She said that a friend who goes to the same church as the film producer introduced her to him. She claimed that the man took a quick liking to her and invited her to come to his office the following day for an audition.

The woman stated that since she aspires to be a movie star, her only option is to give in to the man’s plea for sex.

She therefore cautioned women who aspire to become actors to exercise caution, as the experience demoralized her. Although she was cast for the role, she was unable to fully recover from the trauma until recently.
