Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich has revealed his passion for Fufu, an African cuisine. The German international revealed that he has a soft spot for Fufu because his father used to prepare it for him when he was growing up.
Musiala revealed this revelation while appearing on chef Serge Ibaka’s “How Hungry Are You?” show.
The show includes interviews with athletes and other sports figures who discuss their favourite cuisine. Musiala, whose father is Nigerian, claimed that his father would occasionally prepare Fufu for him when they were in England.
Despite not having visited Nigeria yet, Musiala proudly said that he is of Nigerian descent but has chosen to represent the German national team.
His appreciation for Fufu demonstrates not only his cultural connection, but also how food can bring people together from all walks of life. Interestingly, Musiala is not the first footballer who has expressed his fondness for this Nigerian delicacy.
Dortmund striker Karim Adeyemi has also acknowledged his love of Fufu, claiming that it is responsible for his pace on the pitch.
Both players have spent time with Bayern Munich, with Adeyemi eventually leaving the team. Their affection for Fufu reflects their strong connection to Nigerian culture.
