A remarkable display of royal honour unfolded at the Manhyia Palace as the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, walked approximately 100 metres to personally welcome the newly installed Asantehemaa, Nana Yaa Akyaa II, in a gesture that has captured widespread public admiration.
The symbolic act underscored the significance of the occasion and the deep respect accorded to the office of the Asantehemaa within the Asante Kingdom’s traditional leadership structure.
Witnesses described the moment as both historic and emotional, with traditional leaders, royals, and dignitaries looking on as the Asantehene received the Queen Mother in accordance with cherished customs and traditions.
