Thousands of candidates who sat for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) are eagerly awaiting their results, and the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has provided an indication of when they should expect them.

According to WAEC, the 2026 BECE results are expected to be released by the end of July, provided the marking, processing, and verification of scripts proceed as scheduled. The Council is currently undertaking the post-examination processes to ensure that all results are accurate and credible before publication.

The anticipated release timeline comes as candidates and parents anxiously await the outcome of the nationwide examination, which serves as the gateway to Senior High School placement under the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).

WAEC has urged candidates to remain patient and disregard unverified reports circulating on social media regarding the release date. The Council says an official announcement will be made once the results are ready.

After the results are released, candidates will be able to access them online using a valid results checker PIN through WAEC’s official results portal.

Education stakeholders have also encouraged candidates to stay calm while waiting, reminding them that the integrity of the examination process depends on thorough marking and verification before results are made public.

With the end-of-July window in sight, thousands of students across the country are counting down the days, hoping for successful results that will pave the way for their next stage of education.
