A fierce political defence has emerged from the camp of outspoken Ashanti Region politician and businessman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, as his campaign team insists that his recent dealings involving the Ghana Exim Bank were fully grounded in law and proper procedure.

In a strongly worded response aimed at mounting public scrutiny, the campaign team dismissed allegations of wrongdoing, arguing that every step taken in relation to the Exim Bank matter followed established legal frameworks and due process. According to the team, attempts to portray the development as suspicious or politically motivated are misleading and unfair.

They maintained that Wontumi’s engagements with state financial institutions were consistent with standard operational procedures and should not be misinterpreted as violations of any regulations. The team further stressed that the rule of law remains the guiding principle behind all his professional and political activities.

The statement comes amid growing public debate and political tension surrounding the issue, with critics calling for greater transparency while supporters insist the matter is being politicised.

Reaffirming their position, the campaign team urged the public to disregard what they described as “calculated misinformation,” insisting that due process will ultimately vindicate their stance.

As the controversy continues to generate headlines, the Wontumi camp says it remains confident that official scrutiny will confirm that no laws were breached in the handling of the Exim Bank-related engagements.
