Ghanaian musician A.Y Poyoo has expressed worry over reports that, following their breakup, his former label deleted all of his music from internet platforms.
“My fans will notice that over the past year, all my songs have been deleted from the online stores, and that has affected me,” Poyoo said in a video posted on Ameyaw TV’s Instagram, expressing distress over the impact on his career.
He further lamented the financial repercussions, saying, “Imagine I’m earning $2,000 a month or $3,000, and all of a sudden you’re not earning anything because they’ve deleted your songs from online.”
As he put it, “If there is an issue, Poyoo, you are going, so we have to share the percentage. Even if you are gone, I have the percentage in the songs you have taken because we worked together.” Poyoo emphasized the significance of treating people fairly in the music business.
A few months ago, the musician also made headlines when he claimed to have only made $100 since starting his music career.
