In a shocking and emotional revelation, a young man has opened up about what he describes as years of being used and manipulated by a girl he trusted throughout his junior secondary school days.

According to him, what started as an innocent friendship in JSS1 slowly turned into a one-sided relationship that lasted all the way to JSS3—leaving him feeling exploited and emotionally drained.

“I thought we were close,” he recalled. “But now I realize I was just being used the whole time.”

He explained that during those formative school years, he constantly went out of his way to support her—whether it was running errands, helping with schoolwork, or always being available whenever she needed something. At the time, he believed his efforts were part of a genuine bond.

But looking back, he says the signs were always there.

“It was always about what she needed,” he said. “When I needed her, she was never there.”

The realization, he admits, didn’t come immediately. It took time, distance, and maturity for him to understand that the connection he valued so deeply may not have been mutual.

His story has since sparked widespread reactions, with many people reflecting on similar experiences of one-sided friendships during their school years. Others have pointed out how young people can sometimes mistake attention or dependency for genuine care.

Now, he’s using his experience to speak out about self-worth, boundaries, and recognizing unhealthy dynamics early.

Three years. One-sided loyalty. And a lesson he says he’ll never forget.
