A storm of outrage has erupted online after a young woman sharply condemned private school owners over what she described as “dehumanizing” pay for teachers, warning that the education sector is heading toward a dangerous breaking point.
In a fiery outburst that has since gone viral, she blasted the widely reported ₦15,000 monthly salary being paid to some teachers, calling it nothing short of “wickedness” and a direct insult to the teaching profession.
According to her, expecting educators to survive, teach, and maintain dignity on such a meagre income is unrealistic and unsustainable. She argued that the system is quietly pushing dedicated teachers out of classrooms, replacing passion with frustration and survival anxiety.
“₦15,000 is not a salary — it’s punishment,” she reportedly said, warning that if urgent reforms are not made, schools could face a looming crisis of low morale, mass resignations, and declining teaching quality.
Her comments have ignited heated debate across social media, with many Nigerians agreeing that teachers are severely underpaid, while others point to the financial struggles of private school operators.
As the conversation grows louder, one thing is clear: the fight over teacher welfare is no longer simmering — it is boiling over into a national concern that could reshape the future of education if left unresolved.
