Shockwaves are hitting Ghana’s entertainment industry as organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs) scramble for a venue — and the iconic Grand Arena is officially OFF the table!
In a stunning revelation, Charterhouse PRO Robert Klah has disclosed that the Grand Arena, the glittering home of the awards in recent years, is simply no longer available — throwing preparations into chaos just weeks before the big night.
According to him, the issue isn’t about preference — it’s about access. The land on which the Grand Arena sits has reportedly been reclaimed by its owners, leaving organisers locked out and forced into a last-minute search for an alternative venue. (Pulse Ghana)
“Unfortunately, the Grand Arena is not available… the owners of the land want their property back, so we no longer have access,” Klah revealed.
The situation is further complicated by looming renovation plans at the Accra International Conference Centre, where the Grand Arena dome is located — meaning the structure itself may have to be moved entirely.
For years, the Grand Arena has been the heartbeat of the TGMAs — a massive, modern venue capable of hosting thousands and delivering world-class production. But now, that era has come to an abrupt halt.
Behind the scenes, the race is on. With the awards date fast approaching, organisers are reportedly considering smaller venues like the Palms Convention Centre — but capacity limitations could drastically scale down the glamour, guest list, and overall spectacle.
Industry players are already raising red flags, calling the situation “unacceptable” for Ghana’s biggest music night. The controversy has also exposed a deeper problem — the country’s lack of large, world-class event venues to match the growing stature of its creative industry.
As tensions rise and the countdown continues, one question hangs in the air:
Can Charterhouse pull off a miracle — or will TGMAs 2026 be remembered for all the wrong reasons?
