The Student Union of Farm and Agricultural Groups (SUFAG) has officially suspended its planned demonstration following what it describes as successful high-level interventions by key stakeholders.
In a statement, the group announced the decision to halt the protest, which had been scheduled to draw attention to pressing concerns affecting its members. SUFAG explained that engagements held with senior officials and relevant authorities led to renewed dialogue and assurances on the issues raised.
According to the union, the suspension is intended to allow space for continued negotiations and constructive engagement aimed at addressing their demands without resorting to public protest action.
SUFAG emphasized that while the demonstration has been put on hold, its core concerns remain valid and will continue to be pursued through official channels until satisfactory resolutions are achieved.
The group further noted that the decision was made in the interest of maintaining calm and ensuring that ongoing discussions are not disrupted.
Members have been urged to remain patient and united as leadership continues to engage with authorities on their behalf.
The suspension marks a temporary de-escalation of tensions, with stakeholders now expected to work towards a lasting resolution of the issues that initially triggered the planned demonstration.
