Labour leader Abraham Koomson has dismissed the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) warning over the ongoing case involving its Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Wontumi, insisting that no amount of political pressure will alter the course of justice.
Responding to the NPP’s concerns, Koomson maintained that the legal process must be allowed to take its course without intimidation or attempts to influence state institutions. He stressed that justice should be administered fairly and independently, regardless of an individual’s political affiliation or status.
His remarks come amid heightened political tensions surrounding the Wontumi case, which has sparked widespread public debate and drawn strong reactions from both the governing and opposition parties.
Koomson argued that claims suggesting the situation could trigger political retaliation or reverse future political fortunes are misplaced, declaring that “no tables will turn” and urging all parties to respect the rule of law.
