Accra — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced an emergency expedited passport replacement arrangement for victims affected by recent floods, offering swift document reissuance to support recovery and mobility needs.

The initiative is aimed at helping affected citizens who lost vital documents during flooding incidents that have displaced families and damaged property in several parts of the country.

According to the Ministry, the special arrangement will prioritize flood victims whose passports were destroyed or lost, ensuring they can quickly regain access to essential travel documentation needed for work, education, or emergency relocation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration (Ghana), said the move forms part of broader government efforts to ease the burden on disaster-hit communities and support faster recovery.

Officials indicated that affected persons will be required to present proof of identity and evidence of flood impact to qualify for the expedited service.

The announcement has been welcomed as a timely intervention, particularly for individuals whose livelihoods depend on international travel or documentation access.

Authorities say the measure reflects a coordinated response by government agencies to ensure that disaster victims are not further disadvantaged by administrative delays in the aftermath of the flooding crisis.

As recovery efforts continue, more support measures are expected to be rolled out for affected communities across the country.
