Minister for Roads and Highways Kwame Governs Agbodza has issued a stern warning to ministers and District Chief Executives (DCEs) over what he described as the poor performance of contractors handling government projects.
In a strongly worded address, Agbodza openly criticized officials for failing to ensure contractors deliver quality work and complete projects on schedule, insisting that excuses for delays and substandard execution will no longer be tolerated.
The minister stressed that government projects must be closely monitored, with ministers and DCEs held accountable for ensuring contractors fulfill their contractual obligations.
His remarks come amid growing public frustration over stalled infrastructure projects, abandoned construction sites, and delays that continue to affect communities across the country.
Agbodza warned that contractors who fail to meet expected standards could face sanctions, while public officials responsible for supervising projects must also step up their oversight responsibilities.
The tough stance has sparked widespread discussion, with many Ghanaians applauding the minister’s call for greater accountability and stricter supervision of public infrastructure projects.
