Ghana is poised to take another significant step toward expanding its renewable energy capacity, with Goosie Tanoh announcing that the highly anticipated Buipe Solar Project is scheduled to commence next month.
According to Tanoh, the project marks a major milestone in the country’s drive to diversify its energy mix, strengthen electricity generation, and promote cleaner, more sustainable sources of power.
The Buipe Solar Project is expected to boost renewable energy production, enhance energy security, and contribute to Ghana’s broader efforts to reduce dependence on conventional power sources while supporting environmental sustainability.
Officials say the initiative will also create employment opportunities during its implementation and stimulate economic activity in the Buipe area and surrounding communities.
The announcement has been welcomed by stakeholders in the energy sector, who believe the project will play a key role in advancing Ghana’s transition to green energy and supporting long-term national development.
With construction expected to begin next month, anticipation is growing as the project moves from the planning stage to implementation, reinforcing Ghana’s commitment to a cleaner and more resilient energy future.
