Accra, Ghana – The Ghana Journalists Association has issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Kasoa Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, demanding action following an alleged attack on journalists and staff at Obaatanpa Radio.
The association condemned the reported incident, describing it as an unacceptable assault on press freedom and the safety of media practitioners. It warned that attacks on journalists undermine democratic values and the public’s right to access information.

According to the GJA, the seven-day deadline is intended to ensure accountability over the alleged incident, with the association urging the party’s leadership to address the matter and take appropriate action.
The organization further called on law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the alleged attack and ensure that anyone found responsible is dealt with in accordance with the law.
The alleged incident has sparked widespread concern within Ghana’s media fraternity, with journalists and civil society groups renewing calls for stronger protection of media professionals carrying out their constitutional duties.
The Ghana Journalists Association reiterated its commitment to defending press freedom and vowed to pursue all lawful avenues to ensure justice and accountability in the matter.
