Accra — President John Dramani Mahama has made a passionate appeal to Ghanaians to put the nation first by supporting locally produced goods and services, describing the move as critical to sustaining Ghana’s economic recovery and long-term growth.

Addressing the nation, President John Dramani Mahama urged citizens, businesses, and institutions to embrace a “Ghana First” mindset, emphasizing that prioritizing local products and industries will create jobs, boost investment, and strengthen the country’s economic resilience.

According to the President, the nation’s economic recovery depends not only on government policies but also on the collective commitment of Ghanaians to support homegrown businesses and reduce dependence on imports.

He stressed that choosing Ghana-made products would help stimulate local manufacturing, empower entrepreneurs, and keep more wealth circulating within the national economy.

The President also called on the private sector to seize emerging opportunities by investing in innovation, productivity, and value addition to make Ghanaian products more competitive both locally and internationally.

His remarks come as the government continues to implement measures aimed at stabilizing the economy, attracting investment, and improving the livelihoods of citizens.

The “Ghana First” appeal has reignited conversations about economic patriotism, with many viewing it as a key strategy for building a stronger, more self-reliant economy.

As the country charts its recovery path, President Mahama believes every purchasing decision by Ghanaians can play a role in securing a more prosperous and resilient future for the nation.
