The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has revealed that Zack Orji, the ailing film star, is getting better. Orji is a prominent name in Nollywood. His roles in movies like “The Bridge,” “Glamour Girls,” and “Blood Money” have made him well-known.
The actor was hospitalized on Friday after collapsing in his toilet in Abuja. On Sunday, a video of Orji appearing to be in pain while bedridden surfaced.
Sources also said he had been grappling with fatigue for weeks, rendering him unable to talk or move. The AGN had earlier revealed that details about Orji’s health were still sketchy. The guild also committed to informing the public of any updates.
“It is true. He is currently in the hospital. They are running tests on him,” the AGN had said.
The actor’s condition has improved, according to a Tuesday update from AGN national secretary Abubakar Yakubu.
“He is getting better now by God’s grace,” he told TheCable Lifestyle.
The ailing actor was visited by First Lady Remi Tinubu and Vice President Nana Shettima at the National Hospital in Abuja. The actor has starred in hundreds of movies. Beyond acting, Orji is also a director and film producer.
In 2023, Orji was appointed as the performing arts director for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign committee.
