Social media users rubbished plans announced by Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, revealing the government plans to use electric vehicles for public transport.
According to netizens, in a country with constant power supply issues, it is simply counterproductive to announce such a plan.
Dr Bawumia revealed during a recent interview that government is working on a policy to use electric vehicles for public transport.
“Government is working on a policy framework to move public transportation from a dependence on petroleum fuels to electric vehicles,” Bawumia said.
His comment was quikcly rubbished by social media users.
“Night bus, Kumasi to Takoradi… 3 hours into the journey and you get told the bus is on low battery. SCENESSSSSS…. lol,” one netizen said.
Another added: “I hope it won’t be with ECG. One light out and you’ll be stuck,”
A third netizen added: “Same person who chose Ghana card over 1000 interchanges wants us to believe this?. Oh come on, come on rate us okay,”
