Former football administrator Ernest Thompson has made a bold appeal for the Ghana national team, the Black Stars, insisting the squad needs a coach in the mould of Serbian tactician Milovan Rajevac.
Speaking passionately, Thompson emphasized that the team requires a manager with a strong tactical mindset, motivational skills, and a proven ability to deliver results on the big stage — qualities he believes Rajevac exemplified during his successful tenure with the Black Stars.
“Ghana needs someone who can unify the squad, instill discipline, and get the best out of our players,” Thompson stated, highlighting that the recent coaching changes have failed to provide stability and consistent performance.
He argued that a coach of Rajevac’s calibre could restore the Black Stars’ competitive edge in continental tournaments and international fixtures, helping them reclaim their position among Africa’s elite football teams.
With Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and other critical matches on the horizon, Thompson’s call reignites the debate over the Black Stars’ coaching strategy and the type of leadership required to achieve success.
