Yvonne Nelson, a Ghanaian actress and movie producer, made headlines on social media when she joined the “DumsorMustEnd Vigil” on Saturday, which was held to protest the country’s ongoing power outages.

What drew people’s attention was her visible baby belly. Videos posted online plainly revealed that Yvonne Nelson had gained weight, indicating that she was pregnant.

During an interview at the vigil, Yvonne Nelson voiced her concerns about the healthcare system’s power outages, particularly at a popular hospital where patients were in distress.

The 38-year-old explained that she intended to have all of her children in Ghana, but she was concerned about the difficulties she may face if there was a sudden power outage while she was in labour.

She emphasised the necessity of everyday access to consistent electricity, particularly given her heat intolerance.

In response to her pregnancy announcement, numerous Ghanaians turned to social media to ask if she would include her baby daddy in her next book, citing a prior feud with rapper Sarkodie, whom she accused of forcing her into having an abortion.
