On Ghanaian celebs who have had surgery to improve their bodies, Delay is putting the heat on them.
The Ghanaian TV host expressed her disgust over the trend, which she claims has become a new fad, and stated she would never be able to have any cosmetic surgery done.
“People are saying my belly is drooping therefore I’m going to chop it since there is this sudden demand for superficiality,” she said. Since when did we arrive here? I’ll never be able to do that because maybe I’m a villager, Delay said.
As a guest speaker at a program, the host of The Delay Show addressed her audience. If you want to see, check; I came here wearing slippers, she continued. I am a very dependable and straightforward individual. I don’t experience tension in this world; whenever I wake up, my only thought is about my work.
She criticized some Ghanaian celebrities for participating in the superficiality craze, saying that “the celebrities are part, they mount pressure on people, they post their houses, travel to Dubai, their cars, it will all mount pressure on young girls so they also try to find any means to live such luxurious lives.”
“Where from all of these? Therefore, it appears that the Devil is also utilizing social media because people are acting irrationally, Delay stressed.
In response to her remarks, one Instagram user wrote, “Do not judge what you cannot relate to. Do not condemn or criticize those who prefer to work on their bodies unless your body changes due to childbirth or for any other cause. Let people live their lives as they choose. If she were unfit or one of the unfortunate individuals who suffer from insecurity, she probably would not be saying that.
Another social media user chimed in, adding, “I don’t think she said anything incorrect.. she answered herself by saying maybe she’s a villager.
Added by a different user on social media “She answered herself by adding that perhaps she is a peasant, thus I don’t think she said anything incorrect. She said that she wouldn’t do that and that the show-offs by celebrities put too much pressure on people to behave in a certain way. She did so in a positive manner. I believe that she shouldn’t be attacked “.
Others, like Sandylins and @evelyn.shatel, concurred with Delay, saying that it was the “most sensible thing I’ve heard today” and that “the pressure is growing wesser and it’s truly becoming unseemly.”
