The Zongo Development Fund Board is now officially launched by Bawumia.

The Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has officially established the Board of the Zongo Development Fund at the Jubilee House in Accra on Wednesday August 9, 2022.

According to him, the Zongo Development Fund’s establishment will ensure that Zongo communities do not miss out on the nation’s infrastructure development that will provide favorable outcomes which was the vision of the New Patriotic Party (N.P.P).

Speaking at the swearing in of the Development Fund Board, he stressed that President Akufo-Addo established the Zongo Development Ministry as a unique development tool to speed up development in Zongo villages and close the development gap between Zongos and other regions of the nation.

He also stated that the Zongo Development Ministry in the past four years has undertaken several infrastructure projects in the areas of education, sanitation, roads, health, sports, and many others which has resulted in the construction of a number of ultra modern educational facilities such as classrooms, ICT centres and libraries in Zongo communities.

Sequentially, the eleven-member Board, which is presided over by Mr. Seidu H. Nasigri, was sworn in by Dr. Bawumia.

The new members of the Board were asked by Dr. Bawumia to work assiduously with all stakeholders, to ensure that the Zongo Development Fund continues to deliver on its mandate.
