The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will soon elect a new national chairman to lead the party. The chairman plays a very important role in organizing the party and helping it win elections.
Below is a list of 10 people who could become the next NPP chairman.
1. Stephen Ayensu Ntim – He is the current national chairman of the NPP. If he decides to contest again, he could win because he already has strong support and experience.
2. Stephen Asamoah Boateng – He is a well-known politician who has served in many government roles. He is active in the party and wants to become national chairman. He was second in the 2023 NPP primaries. If he contests again, he could win.
3. John Boadu – The former General Secretary of the NPP. He has said he will contest for the chairman position. He knows the party very well and has worked hard in the past.
4. Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi) – He is the current Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP. He is very popular and has said he will contest at the national level.
5. Professor Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi – He is a respected academic and politician. He once contested for the chairman position and may try again.
6. Sammy Crabbe – A former NPP Second Vice Chairman. He has experience in party leadership and could come back to contest.
7. Akwasi Osei-Adjei – A former Foreign Affairs Minister. He also contested in the previous NPP national chairman race.
8. Alhaji Abubakar Abdul-Rahman – He is from the Upper West Region and has previously contested for the chairman position.
9. Fred Oware – A businessman and politician who once served as the party’s first vice chairman. He is seen as a calm and strategic leader.
10. Boakye Agyarko – Though not confirmed, some believe he may join the race. He is a senior party member and former Energy Minister.
