Achanpong highlighted the importance of proper planning, contrasting the NDC’s approach with the previous government’s Free SHS policy. He noted that the lack of a clear framework for the Free SHS policy has led to challenges, and the NDC aims to avoid similar pitfalls with the 24-hour economy.

The recent donation of 60 pickup vehicles and 20 motorbikes to the Ghana Police Service by Interior Minister Hon. Muntaka Mubarak demonstrates the government’s readiness to support the 24-hour economy with necessary security infrastructure. The vehicles, assembled locally, are expected to enhance the Police Service’s capacity to provide continuous security, especially for businesses operating beyond traditional working hours.

Achanpong emphasized that security remains a cornerstone of the 24-hour economy vision. The NDC’s approach prioritizes investments in security infrastructure to ensure a safe and conducive environment for businesses to thrive. He expressed optimism that the policy will boost economic productivity and job creation with thorough planning and execution.
