During the heat wave, temperatures soared up to 45 degrees Celsius (113 Fahrenheit). Teachers were advised to limit outdoor activities, keep classrooms well-ventilated, provide water to students, and watch for signs of heat-related illnesses.

Despite these precautions, the heat wave continues, as evidenced by a viral video showing a South Sudanese individual using the sun to fry eggs.
