Sarkodie reacts to ‘Dumsor’ in Tema General Hospital’s babies ward

Shortly after the power went out, a video went viral featuring a nurse expressing concern about the impact of the blackout on babies in incubators at Tema General Hospital.

The nurse warned that without electricity, there was a high risk of losing many infants.

The video, which has gained attention from the Ghanaian public, prompted rapper Sarkodie to share it on his Instagram story, criticizing the government for its misplaced priorities.

The country has been experiencing frequent power cuts, leading to calls for a load-shedding timetable.

Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, however, challenged those advocating for a schedule to come up with their own proposals.

He questioned the need for a timetable, as the Electricity Company of Ghana had stated it was not necessary.

Despite the criticism, Dr. Prempeh assured the public that the government was working to address the issue, emphasizing that it would take time to resolve.

The minister’s comments have sparked debate among Ghanaians, with many expressing frustration over the ongoing power cuts and the lack of a clear plan to address the issue.
