Religion has brought hatred and other vices to Ghana, says Sister Derby

Sister Derby, a model and musician, has confused social media users by stating that, while she believes in God, she is not religious.

She voiced concern in an interview with YFM that a lot of people tend to follow religious doctrines without thinking for themselves, which results in a lack of acceptance and understanding of different points of view.

She thinks that because religion incites people to hate one another without cause, it is the main source of homophobia.

Sister Derby emphasized the value of education outside of the classroom, advising people to learn via face-to-face interaction and discussions with an open mind to promote a more diverse community.

Sister Derby drew comparisons between the marginalized groups that the LGBTQ community in Ghana faces and those that other marginalized groups, such as victims of domestic abuse, people with albinism, and people facing racial discrimination, have faced throughout history.

The musician and sister of Kubolor have been very vocal about his fate and how some people are afraid to think outside the box.
