Popular Sakawa guy, OTD, who acquired a Benz just two months ago, dies in a gruesome accident

A tragic accident that occurred on the Accra-Kumasi road last Tuesday left a young Ghanaian man dead and his girlfriend severely injured. The man, known locally as Worry or OTD, was from the Krobo Odumase area of the Eastern Region.

The black Mercedes Benz they were travelling in, worth an estimated $35,000, was reportedly purchased by the deceased only two months prior to the fatal accident. The vehicle was severely damaged in the crash, leaving the young man dead at the scene and his girlfriend with the loss of an arm.

Rumours circulating in the aftermath of the incident suggest that the deceased may have been involved in internet fraud, a practice commonly referred to locally as Sakawa. This speculation, however, remains unconfirmed. It is yet to be officially investigated or substantiated by the authorities.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation. The young man’s untimely death and his alleged involvement in Sakawa has ignited conversations around road safety and the moral implications of internet fraud within the community.

As the community mourns the loss of one of its young members, the injured woman continues to fight for her life in the hospital.
