Elorm Ama Ababio, often known as Ama Governor, is a social media personality and aspiring attorney from Ghana who just reaffirmed her LGBT orientation in public.
She stressed that her s3xual orientation has no influence on her abilities to become a lawyer in an interview she gave to Joy News recently, which was broadcast during the #OccupyJulorbihouse demonstration in Accra.

Ama Governor said that she won the case and would be admitted to the bar in October 2023. She had previously been denied admission to the bar as a result of a petition filed against her.
She added that the petition contained charges that were later proved to be unfounded, which is what caused her first denial.
She explained the reason for her delayed bar admission as follows: ” . . . because a concerned citizen petitioned that I was not fit to be called to the bar, they presented two false justifications and one insufficient justification, which all got thrown out, and basically, I won in the end” .

” First of all, as I said, the person stated fallacious grounds, and they were lies, like outright fabrications. “
” And the last one is the fact that I am sexually attracted to women, ” she continued. I stated it was not a lie and that was a fact that I did had sex with women. But that is all; there is no justification for not calling me to the bar” .

We used that as our defense and prevailed. ” My s3xuality, I am queer, I am pansexual; yes, I sleep with women, but it is not a ground upon which you can say I am not fit to be called unto the bar. “
