The seasoned gospel musician has been making headlines lately because of his admission in an interview with Akoma FM that he met bad luck when he married her.

A video that went viral showing Edward Akwasi Boateng peddling pen drives and Compact Discs (CDs) at a Kumasi bus station revealed that he had experienced hardships in life.

During the same interview, the gospel singer revealed that not marrying an assistant was one of the reasons his marriage did not work out. He said he married a woman who made him spend more than he could afford, adding that any marriage in Ghana leads to poverty.

In contrast to Ghana, where marriage inevitably results in poverty, he claimed that the majority of Western marriages see the couple as successful.

“I was impacted when I spent more money than I could afford. In modern times, we typically marry for love and feelings, but the Bible says that we should marry for financial stability.

“Marrying is a sign of poverty in Ghana; outside the country, marriage is a sign of success in life. You fall into poverty the moment you get married. In his interview on Akoma FM, he stated, “I never got an assistant, which is why I spent more than I could afford.”
