Tic Tac joins the many celebrities who have ill sentiments against Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mark Okraku-Mantey who they term a sabotage to the Ghana music industry.
This follows an accusation Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale made against Mark Okraku accusing him of trying to whitelist him in the music industry and beyond.
“Do you know when Mark Okraku-Mantey started blocking me? Started saying that I won’t make it, I won’t get anywhere in my life…?” Shatta Wale quizzed.
“Mark Okraku-Mantey is the problem of this whole music thing, they are deciding. When he was Programmes Manager at Hitz FM, he said on the radio that because they were calling Shatta Wale for an interview and Shatta Wale didn’t come, so, they decided to create their own hero which was Stonebwoy…,”
Tic Tac in a very cryptic Facebook post stated that Mark Okraku is a ‘bad spot’ and being in his new position as a Deputy Minister makes it even worse for the creative industry.
He added that there are several instances where Mark Okraku had belittled him or sidelined him, saying in a phone in on United Showbiz that Mark considered talent wasn’t worth producing.
Aside from these two celebrities, seasoned sports journalist Saddick Adams agreed with Shatta Wale on key figures within the creative industry killing off talents.
Back in 2017, celebrated Highlifer Lucky Mensah also accused Mark Okraku-Mantey for sidelining him and pushing opportunities away from him.
“Not saying the people Shatta mentioned do that, but what he said is true with a lot of industries in Ghana. If you’re not lucky & a potential partner asks for recommendations from the people who just hate you, they won’t only make you lose out, they’ll destroy you forever. Hmm.”
