A Nigerian woman uses social media to talk about her difficult experience with bleaching and how she eventually gave up the practice in order to have healthy skin.

She posted the video to Tiktok under the username @christyyanah, where it has since garnered popularity.

She claimed that she had begun bleaching in 2023 and that stopping it had been quite difficult for her.

She said that her knuckles were darker, her face was very white, and she knew she had to quit.

The young woman mentioned that returning to her normal color was the most difficult part, since at first she was really dark and many people began to wonder if there was a problem.

She acknowledges that having healthier skin and a more natural skin tone have improved her life, giving her the courage to snap photos without a filter—something she was unable to do previously.

She now campaigns against skin bleaching and dedicates her website to support other ladies who are struggling to stop.
