Comedian Jacinta Asi Ocansey shared her experience of being a victim of phone fraud at Accra Kwame Nkrumah circle, one of the biggest towns in Ghana.
In an interview with Angel FM, the Nigerian-Ghanaian stand-up comedian explained that she wanted an iPhone to buy and was advised by a friend to purchase one at Circle.
Circle is a well known commercial hub for dealing in all kinds of trade, most of which are electronic gadgets. As much as it’s a base for all your electronic needs, it’s a known place for electronics, especially phone fraud and theft.
Jancita told the host, Quophi Okyeame she purchased an iPhone, made sure everything was working fine with the phone only to get home and realize that her iPhone is now a Nokia phone.
“The beautiful thing is that they would check that everything is working. The phone is working, everything is working until you get home. When I pulled out my iPhone, the two hands with Nokia came out…so I was like wow.” She stated.
Jancita’s experience has made her weary of the Circle adding that for one to go there and come back the same, you ought to be fortified, full of the Holy Spirit and anointed.
She added that although Nigeria is regarded as the hub of most crimes, Ghana is not so different.
“When I came to Ghana, I realized that we do [commit crimes] just that we are coded. We do everything Nigeria does just that we are good at maintaining our calm,” she stated.
