If you make GHC 5,000 or more, there is no need to travel abroad to hustle – Serwaa Amihere

Ghanaians who are keen to leave the country amidst the economic woes have been advised by Serwaa Amihere to think twice if they make GHC 5,000 or more a year.

The famed TV personality contends that living abroad is not always as glamorous as it is made up to be, with many Africans in the diaspora encountering financial difficulties and falling short of their aspirations to make money.

Against this backdrop, Serwaa thinks it would be prudent for people who are making a good living in Ghana to stay put because there’s no ‘milk and honey’ out there.

Her tweet read “I think if you are in your 20s and 30s and earning, at least, Ghs5000 and above you shouldn’t rush to leave Ghana. It’s not all that rosy out there”.

Serwaa recently engaged in a confrontation with internet trolls who persistently pestered her about getting married.

She made it clear to her social media followers that a woman’s unmarried status does not automatically imply unhappiness.

According to her, marriage should not be equated with happiness, and therefore, individuals should refrain from scrutinizing and pressuring women and men who choose not to settle down.

In particular, in Ghana, Twitter has a significant number of individuals who believe they have the right to criticize unmarried women of a certain age.

These women face relentless attacks on the platform, especially when they express their opinions on such matters.

Unfortunately, numerous female celebrities have also become targets of social media backlash for this very reason, which is entirely unjustifiable.
