Wutah Kobby, a well-known dancehall, highlife, and afrobeat musician, has declared that he no longer supports the New Patriotic Party.

He claims that supporting a political party is a money-making tactic used by musicians during election seasons and that the musicians themselves make these decisions because it has the potential to positively or negatively impact their careers.

He clarified that he is willing to support any political party that contacts him, NDC or NPP, because it is his career as a musician that provides him with the income he needs to support his family.

In response to inquiries regarding his relationship with the NPP, he stated that while he was once affiliated with them, that relationship is now only business-related. The Chochoo hitmaker said:

From a political party endorsement perspective, it is clear that this is just about the business side of music.

Which political party contacts me for endorsement does not matter because I work for a living, so I do not care which one it is.

It is completely unrelated to party affiliation, and although I was formerly affiliated with a political party, I currently do not belong to any political organizations.”

Afriyie and Wutah Kobby, who were once among the best musical duos in the nation, delighted Ghanaians with their music, particularly “Big Dreams,” which went on to become a national anthem and win the Reggae Music of the Year award.
