In a shocking case that has sent waves through the community in Oyarifa, Greater Accra, police have arrested a 40‑year‑old man in connection with the alleged defilement of his nine‑year‑old stepdaughter. The suspect, identified as Pastor Paul Kofi Annan of Chosen Breed Gospel International Ministry and also a carpenter resident at Adenta Commandos, was taken into custody on March 17 after a formal complaint was lodged with the police.
Preliminary police investigations reveal that the accused had been living with the child’s mother since 2023 and only formally married her on February 20, 2026. According to statements given by the young victim to her grandfather during a visit to Cape Coast, the alleged abuse began around 2023 and continued repeatedly whenever her mother was not at home.
The disturbing claim also includes allegations that the suspect threatened the child, warning, “I will kill you if you inform anyone about this,” in an attempt to silence her.
Police say the suspect has been arrested, cautioned, and remains in custody as investigations continue. The Accra Regional Police Command has emphasised its commitment to protecting children and urged parents and guardians to promptly report any suspected abuse for swift action.
