Hollywood icon Ryan Reynolds, best known for playing Deadpool, has revealed a relatable side of fame that’s caught headlines — and eye-rolls at home. The star says his four children often get “frustrated” whenever he stops mid-walk to chat with fans about his beloved football club Wrexham AFC — rather than talk movies.
In candid comments that have quickly become the talk of sports and entertainment circles, Reynolds joked that although fans once mainly asked him about his film roles, these days almost everyone wants to discuss Wrexham — the Welsh club he co-owns with fellow actor Rob McElhenney.
“It’s usually a two- or three-second conversation if someone talks about Deadpool,” he laughed — but when the topic shifts to Wrexham, he’ll happily pause to chat with supporters, much to his kids’ obvious embarrassment and impatience.
Five years after acquiring the historic club, the Hollywood A-lister says he’s now a self-confessed “Wrexham lifer”, fully immersed in the team’s rise through the leagues — even if it tests his family’s patience during everyday outings.
Fans and pundits alike have reacted with a mix of amusement and approval, with many saying his kids’ frustration is simply the flip side of their dad’s big-hearted support for the club and its community.
