With his second project of 2022, which is released under Victor Victor Worldwide/Geffen Records, the Seattle rapper keeps proving why he’s one of the most intriguing emerging voices in hip-hop.
The opening track of the five-track EP is “We Can Go,” which Nick Mira of Internet Money co-produced. Other highlights include “No Guitar” and “By Myself,” which features Destroy Lonely.
Highway’s major-label debut mixtape, which was released in June and produced the hit song “Cash Talk (No Talkin),” is followed by Livin Like That.
And for the 23-year-old rising talent, who started out by producing for performers like Chief Keef, this is just the beginning.
The Seattle Times quoted him as saying, “My goal is to produce something more identifiable so that you can say, “We know for sure, whoever this is with this sound, we know he’s from Seattle.”
In a manner, “[I want to] kind of pioneer it in my own way, establishing the impact to make people feel like they can follow along and sort of see the pattern.”
The EP can be found on Apple Music.
