Mary Nana Odura In a stunning white gown, Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, more commonly referred to as Tems, stood out at the 2023 Academy Awards.
The collaboration she had with popular singer Rihanna on the song “Lift Me Up” earned the 27-year-old singer a nomination for the Best Original Song category at the Oscars in 2023; Ludwig Göransson, a music producer; and Ryan Coogler, the director of Black Panther.
“Naatu Naatu,” written by Chandrabose with music by M.M. Keeravaani, won the award for Best Original Song.
Last night, the awards were presented at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles, USA.
