Darlington Agyekum, who was born under the name Dr. Cryme, has advised promoters to seek out performers who can keep the audience captivated for extended periods.
The rapper claimed in an interview on Cape Coast’s Property FM that promoters often gripe about performers who charge exorbitant booking fees but rarely perform.
Promoters should seek out an artist with extreme energy to keep the audience entertained for extended periods at events, according to Ghanaian musician Darlington Agyekum, better known as Dr. Cryme.
During an interview on Property FM in Cape Coast, the “Kill me shy” hitmaker said promoters complain about musicians who take huge booking fees but don’t stay long on stage. He said,
Promoters frequently bring up the subject of musicians leaving the stage too soon after receiving enormous payouts. Once more, as I have said, we should occasionally remind people of our abilities and accomplishments.
It is not necessary to list every musician whose name comes to mind when looking for musicians for an event, Dr. Cryme informed Amansan Krakye.
“In the end, it is those of us who have done it before that should be counted, so you do not need to be told if you need crazy energy,” he continued.
