Ghana Music Awards-USA Appoints Arnold Asamoah as chairman

Renowned entertainment journalist and showbiz critic Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo has been named Chairman of the newly formed awards board by the Executive Board of the Ghana Music Award (GMA) USA.

The official nominee announcement is scheduled for April 20, 2024, with the board tasked with supervising the awards’ classification and nomination process.

Arnold has made significant contributions to the creative industry. His work with various brands, artists, and events aligns seamlessly with the awards scheme’s vision, according to an executive council press statement signed by GMA-USA’s Chief Operating Officer (COO). The statement read,

”With a seasoned background in public relations and communications, Mr. Asamoah-Baidoo brings valuable experience to his new role. As Chairman, Mr. Asamoah-Baidoo will lead a distinguished team overseeing the categorization and nomination process for the awards scheme,” the council stated.

The press release also revealed the identities of other Board Members for the Fifth Instalment of the Scheme, which is set for August 17, 2024.

Legendary music producers Kwame Micky and David Kyei (Kaywa) are on the list. The list is completed by media figures Halifax Ansah-Addo, Frank Kwabena Owusu (Franky 5), and Mrs. Whitney Boakye Mensah, an expert in events.

Mike Tamakloe, Emmanuel Kusi Mensah, Nathan Pryce, Joshua Tigo, Dennis K. Boafo, and Jeeje Hagan are the other board members. Jeeje Hagan is the board secretary.

For the fifth edition, Eugene Osafo Nkansah will be the official blogger, Nana Poku Ashis will once again serve as the communications director, and Papa Bills will act as the country representative.
