The Bank of Ghana has released the official exchange rates for major foreign currencies for Monday, June 23, 2025. These rates are used by commercial banks across the country to guide their foreign exchange transactions.

The rates are based on the average interbank exchange figures recorded at the close of business on Friday, June 20, 2025.

According to the Bank of Ghana, the US dollar (USD), which is widely used for international trade and business, is being bought at GHS 10.2949 and sold at GHS 10.3052. This means if someone wants to exchange US dollars for Ghana cedis at a bank, the bank will buy each dollar at GHS 10.2949 and sell it to customers at GHS 10.3052.

The British Pound Sterling (GBP), which is another strong currency often used by traders, students, and Ghanaians living in the UK, is being bought at GHS 13.8661 and sold at GHS 13.8810.

The Euro (EUR), which is the main currency used in many European countries, is being bought at GHS 11.8666 and sold at GHS 11.8783.

These rates are important for businesses, importers, exporters, students studying abroad, and individuals who receive or send money from other countries. It helps them know how much Ghana cedis they will receive or need to pay when exchanging foreign currencies.

The Bank of Ghana regularly updates these exchange rates based on market trends and global economic activities. People are encouraged to check these official rates before making any foreign currency transactions to avoid being cheated or misinformed.

As Ghana continues to engage in international trade and attract foreign investments, the exchange rate remains an important factor in determining the strength of the cedi and the cost of doing business in the country.
