The motive behind the incident is unclear, but domestic violence is being considered.

The group announced her passing on Instagram and postponed their upcoming event in light of the tragedy. They asked for prayers for Funi Mbedzi’s family during this difficult time.

Reports suggest that Mbedzi and her husband were experiencing marital issues and were in the process of divorcing. Their pastor confirmed that he was aware of their problems and had been trying to help them reconcile.

Following the incident, the church had to cut short a three-day conference and bring in a psychologist to provide support to the congregation.

Despite being a community that relies on prayer, they recognized the need for professional help in times of crisis.
