For over a decade, Timothy Bentum lived a life he now describes as dark, chaotic, and self-destructive—marked by drug abuse and pilfering that nearly derailed his future. But today, he stands in sharp contrast to that past, sharing a powerful testimony of how he journeyed from addiction to answering the call to ministry.

Bentum recounts 12 painful years trapped in substance dependency, making choices he says he deeply regrets. The addiction, he reveals, pushed him into stealing and dishonesty, straining relationships and shattering trust with family and friends. “I was living without direction,” he admitted, describing moments when hope seemed completely lost.

The turning point, according to him, came through a profound spiritual awakening that forced him to confront his reality. Through faith, mentorship, and personal determination, he says he gradually rebuilt his life—choosing service over self-destruction.

Now in ministry, Bentum uses his past not as a source of shame but as a testimony of transformation, encouraging young people battling addiction to believe that recovery is possible. His story is resonating widely, serving as a reminder that no one is beyond redemption, and even the longest struggle can lead to purpose.
