Michael Collins Ajereh, better known by his stage name Don Jazzy, is a music executive and singer. He has finally addressed rumors that he is selling his Mavin record label.
Note that Mavin Records was mentioned in a Billboard report from October 2023: “Sources say Mavin Records is looking for investment or is anticipating a possible full sale, with strong interest from investors in music assets in the financial sector and bidding coming from the Universal Music Group and HYBE.”
Don Jazzy refuted the rumors during a recent episode of the Zero Conditions podcast, stating that the label is getting approaches from investors rather than actively seeking to be sold.
He explained, drawing interest from overseas investors, that Mavin Records is a viable business with significant potential.
Don Jazzy highlighted that Mavin has had a successful five-year partnership with its current collaborator, Kupanda Holdings, and acknowledged that the partnership might not last indefinitely. Jazzy said:
“The rumors about the sale of Mavin Records are simple. We have investors, Kupanda Holdings, and they have been here for five years now, so dem go going.
“A bunch of people are interested in investing in Mavin. If you have gold or diamonds, people will always patronize you. And Mavin Records has a lot of potential.”
