Ladies and gentlemen, would you kindly raise a fuss for this foreigner? Before the Canadian superstar took the stage at Champions Square, Weezy remarked, “Let’s show him a nice time in America.
With his 2011 Weezy duet “She Will,” Drake opened his 18-minute performance. He continued with “The Motto” before moving on to his own solo songs like “God’s Plan,” “In My Feelings,” “Nonstop,” and “Jimmy Cooks.”
He expressed respect to both New Orleans and the “GOAT” who presented him. Being back in one of the few cities that had a significant impact on his artistic career was an honor, he said. “I don’t think I would ever be where I was without New Orleans, and I definitely know that I would not be anywhere in this fu**ing life without the greatest rapper of all time that’s right there on stage behind me,” the performer said.

Additionally, he recalled playing Bobby Valentino’s role on “Mrs. Officer” while touring with Wayne. He concluded by singing an acapella version of a Tha Carter III song. Drake, who portrayed Jimmy Brooks on “Degrassi,” recalled that Lil Wayne used to ask him on stage to sing Bobby’s portion and refer to him as Jimmy Valentino. It is just as it was in the past.
He wanted to give his mentor one last act of affection before he left. My brother, I’m grateful to you, Lil Wayne. Even what else to say to you is beyond my comprehension. My dear, I adore you.
To play their DJ Khaled-produced song “God Did” before Drake, Weezy brought out Rick Ross.
Since the first Weezyana Fest in 2015, Drake hadn’t previously performed there. Drake, Wayne, and Nicki Minaj performed on stage together in August as part of the Young Money reunion at OVO Fest in Toronto.
