In a fiery outburst that has set social media ablaze, a Nigerian lady has boldly questioned the purpose behind the rapid growth of churches in the country, challenging the clergy’s priorities. “Does the Holy Spirit not call pastors to help the youth?” she asked, pointing to the alarming rise in the number of new churches while young Nigerians continue to face societal and spiritual challenges.

Her passionate plea comes at a time when the Nigerian church landscape seems dominated by a surge in church openings, with new congregations sprouting in every corner. But according to the lady, this boom is missing the most crucial call: the youth. Instead of focusing on outreach and empowerment, she argues that too many pastors are more interested in building their empires than addressing the issues facing the next generation.

“Where are the pastors who should be guiding and mentoring the youth?” she questioned, adding that the growing number of churches does little to address the pressing needs of Nigeria’s young people, who face rampant unemployment, violence, and a disconnect from their faith.

Her comments have sparked intense debate, with some supporting her position, claiming that the church has become a business, while others defend the role of spiritual leaders in expanding the gospel. But one thing is certain: the call to action for Nigeria’s youth has never been more urgent!

Is the church truly living up to its mission? Or are Nigerian pastors more focused on their bottom lines than guiding the youth toward a brighter future?
