Charlotte Osei, former Chairperson Of The Electoral Commission, Has Been Enstooled Safohen of Nkum Asafo Group No. 4.

In a Facebook post, she displayed photos of herself dressed as a Queen Mother, carrying a whip to represent leadership.

She identified her stool as Safohen Nana Ama Kesson.

In her new job, she will lead the Nkum Asafo group 4 as a warrior at the Fetu Oguaa Afahye Festival, which is scheduled for September this year.

The Fetu Afahye is an annual celebration held by the people and chiefs of the Cape Coast Traditional Area in Ghana’s Central Region.

The festival runs for a week, from September 1 to September 7, and attracts both locals and foreigners.

Before the event, the supreme chief spends a week in isolation to seek advice from the gods.

During this time, drumming, dancing, making noise, and fishing are prohibited in the Fosu Lagoon.

The chief then pours a libation for Nana Fosu and formally opens the lagoon for fishing by flinging his net three times into the water.

The festival’s climax is a parade through the community, complete with dancing and celebrations, which culminates in an interdenominational liturgy at Chapel Square.
