A Ghana Air Force helicopter transporting personnel from the Ghana Gas Company crashed in the Western Region

Recent reports have indicated that an Airforce helicopter crashed in Bonsokrom, located in the Western Region of Ghana. The helicopter had reportedly visited an oil rig and was en route back to the Air Force base in Takoradi when the unfortunate incident occurred.

It was reported that a severe storm with thunder forced the pilot to make an emergency landing in order to ensure the safety of the passengers on board. Regrettably, the helicopter was unable to land properly and ended up crashing upon landing.

Sources have revealed that there were a total of 21 individuals on board the aircraft, including aircrew members and officers from the Ghana Gas Company. Following the crash, Ghanaian military personnel swiftly arrived at the scene and secured the area, cordoning it off to investigate further.

Authorities are yet to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine the cause and prevent similar incidents in the future.
